Where the money goes
Bangkok remains the default nomad base in Thailand for good reason: fast internet everywhere, proper coworking, direct flights and every convenience within a Grab ride. The catch is that the foreigner-friendly version of the city is priced accordingly. A one-bed that doubles as an office in Sukhumvit, Thonglor or Asok runs 18,000 to 32,000 baht, and the cafe brunch culture that makes the city pleasant is exactly what pushes the western food line to 4,000 to 9,000 baht a month.
What to watch
Transport is the line you can actually win. Live near the BTS and 1,200 to 3,000 baht covers trains plus the occasional ride-hail. Live far from transit to save rent and you will give the difference back in Grab fares and lost hours, so treat proximity as part of the rent, not a luxury.
Practical notes
The nomad-specific extra is coworking and a proper gym, budgeted at 4,500 to 9,000 baht all in. Plenty of people work from cafes for the price of coffees, but if you take calls or want a standing desk, a monthly coworking pass in central Bangkok costs roughly 2,500 to 5,000 baht on its own.
